Support

Get help with SocialSession.

Use the quickest path below for account, safety, or technical help.

In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number). SocialSession is not an emergency service. We do not monitor meetups, we cannot contact anyone on your behalf, and reports do not reach emergency services.

Ways to reach us

Never send us your password, a recovery link, an authentication token, an identity document, your exact live location, payment card details, or private medical information. SocialSession support will never ask for any of them. If a message claims to be from us and asks for one, it is not from us.

Delete your account

You can permanently delete your SocialSession account yourself, at any time, from inside the app. You do not need to email us first and you do not need our permission.

Me → Account & notifications → Permanently delete account

A recent sign-in and an explicit confirmation are required, so that nobody else can delete your account from an unlocked phone. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

No longer have the app installed? Email info@socialsessionapp.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify that you control the address before deleting anything.

Frequently asked

My verification email never arrived.

Check your spam or junk folder, and search for "SocialSession". Verification links expire, so use the newest message and open it on the same device you signed up on. If you signed up more than once in a short period, some messages may be delayed — wait a few minutes and request a new one rather than requesting several in a row. Still nothing? Email info@socialsessionapp.com with the address you used and roughly when you signed up.

I forgot my password / I cannot sign in.

Use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and open the newest recovery message on the same device. Recovery links are sent only through our identity provider. SocialSession support will never ask for your password or your recovery link. If sign-in fails with an unclear message, note what it says and email us.

I cannot save or post a meetup.

Three things block hosting, and the app will say which one applies:

  • Your profile is not complete enough yet. Finish the required profile fields under Me — hosting and joining both need a usable profile so other adults can decide about you.
  • A required field on the meetup is missing or out of range — a named public venue, a start time in the future, a duration, and a capacity.
  • Your account is restricted. If a safety decision has been made about your account, the app will tell you and show your appeal option.

Meetups must be at a named public venue. A private home address will not be accepted.

How do I report or block someone?

Report and Block appear on every profile, roster row, message and meetup. Blocking is immediate and mutual — you disappear from each other's discovery, meetups, chat and notifications. Reporting opens a case in the private safety queue and gives you a private receipt in Nearby → Safety → Safety Center, showing the category, status, any action taken, and the reason for the decision.

The person you report is never told who reported them. Review is not real-time. For immediate danger, call 911 first, then report.

My account or content was actioned. How do I appeal?

You get one appeal per decision. Open Nearby → Safety → Safety Center, find the receipt for the decision, and submit your appeal with at least a sentence explaining what you believe was misjudged. A lead reviewer — not the person who made the original decision — reviews it. If your account is suspended, the appeal flow is on the screen you land on when you open the app.

If you cannot reach it at all, email info@socialsessionapp.com from the address on your account.

How do I stop appearing in Nearby?

Turn Nearby off on Home or in Nearby to remove your presence. Timed presence also expires after your selected duration. “Until I turn it off” stays on when the app closes; turn it off before leaving your area. Revoking location permission does not by itself remove an already shared presence. Nearby is approximate by design and never shows a map pin — do not send us your address or exact coordinates.

How do I get a copy of my data?

Me → Account & notifications → Export my account data. A recent sign-in is required. Do not email exported data or passwords to support.

How do I change my notifications?

Me → Account & notifications — opt into or out of each category and set quiet hours. System-level permission stays under your phone's Settings app.

I am under 18. Can you make an exception?

No. SocialSession is limited to people age 18 and older, and support cannot bypass the age requirement or change a recorded date of birth. See Age Eligibility.

Does a listing mean the venue approved the meetup?

No. A listing does not guarantee venue access, opening hours, accessibility, permission for any activity, or that another member will show up. Confirm the venue's rules directly, arrange your own transportation, and meet only where you feel safe.
